Fickle Fay

Ken and I went out to Navarre Beach this past weekend to visit with a friend's family that's here on vacation. The heavy amount of rain forecast for Tropical Storm Fay never showed up, but it did get a little windy. It was good news for us and we spent the afternoon swimming in the pool even though we were freezing cold.



I tried my best to get a good picture of this rainbow:


Right before we were leaving, storm clouds rolled in and ruined my chances of getting a great sunset shot!

Vickie's birthday

I made these earrings for my friend Vickie's birthday:





She wore the blue ones the day I gave them to her, but I don't know if she'll ever wear the white and black flowers. They're a little big. Oh well.

Out to the ball game

Went to a baseball game last weekend and spent most of the time chatting and complaining about the heat. The sun was out in full force which made it hard for me to take pictures. I am trying my best to get the hang of exposure with digital; it's much more difficult than I imagined!

Baby blues

Besides the kitties, this baby is my favorite model! I just love her eyes.

She does this cute thing when she's relaxed, like she's just kicking back in a recliner and resting her hands behind her head:

Open House

Our Open House was so much fun this year--I dressed in colonial costuming for the event, and participated in contra dancing! The only bad thing was the HEAT! I would not have enjoyed living in colonial Pensacola one bit! At least we were able to take breaks in the air conditioning.

Fiesta Days

The annual Fiesta Prayer Service is held the first Saturday in June at Old Christ Church. It's easiest if I assign myself to work the event, and this year I decided to bring my camera to get some shots of Don Tristan de Luna, his queen, and the knights and princesses. Unfortunately, I couldn't get in a good position--all the mothers of the kids in the children's court were there and I didn't want to block anyone's view.
