29 years young

Lucky me, I get to work late on my birthday! We are participating in Gallery Night, so the museum has to be staffed until 9:00pm. I will make sure to repeatedly mention that it's my birthday, and maybe I'll be sent home early!

Let them eat cake!

Everyone knows yellow cake with buttercream frosting is my favorite! I have a wonderful co-worker who makes sure we all get a small celebration for our birthdays. She'll bring in a cake or have someone make one, and always has a sweet (or sometimes funny) gift for the birthday boy or girl. Last year, she gave me a huge bag full of crazy yarns (unfortunately I haven't made anything yet) and a gift card to Michael's. This year it was catnip mice for the kitties and a cute necklace made with Swarovski crystals (I'll have to get pictures later).

She's the best.

How wonderful life is...

Elton is awesome! I can't stop thinking about the concert. Our seats were pretty great--thanks, Sylvia! The lady sitting next to me was funny and nice; I was worried I'd be next to someone obnoxious. Of course, the people next to her WERE obnoxious, and spilled beer all over the couple in front of them.

I am kicking myself for not taking a camera. I didn't think they'd be allowed. I stole some pictures from the News Journal, and am happy that people have already posted videos on YouTube!

Happy birthday, mom!

I made my mom a bracelet for her birthday--it was inspired by one she liked in the lia sophia catalog. We went to a party a few weeks ago and I kept saying, "No, I can make that!" So far, this is the only thing I've made.

To celebrate, the whole family went out for Chinese food. Dinner didn't end so well, thanks to the tragic fortunes in my mom and dad's fortune cookies. Mom's read, "Your problem just got bigger. Think, what have you done?" And then dad's read, "It's over your head now. Time to get some professional help." Ouch! Confucius is not playing around!

Fur babies - Vader again

He decided to be more appropriate this time, although in the second picture he looks like he is saying, "Really, more pictures? Enough already. How about some food or cream?"
